A promise to write, and hopefully soon.

Trying to sit down and write or type any of my stories has become somewhat, unappealing to me.
I hate saying that, because of my childhood dream about becoming a writer.
I guess life is trying to take it's toll on me, or maybe it's my mind trying to hurt itself before anything can happen.

To me, life is written in chapters, depending on what is going on. School wasn't a factor in my chapters, where I was, who I was with, and the way I thought at the time determined each chapter. But I look back at the memories from each chapter and at times I'm full of emotion, feelings of longing and at times regret.

But I guess everyone feels this from time to time. Can't change the past but it can still affect your future.

The real reason for my writer's block is how drastic my life changed after high school. Getting a job, moving out, getting engaged, the list goes on. So much new responsibility, but all with the knowledge of what will happen in the future.

It's pessimistic, it's a times morbid, but I know that all I have will come to an end. My life, those I love, those I have yet to meet. I'm terrified when it all will end, and if I am ready for any of it.

These sad thoughts drive the creativity from my mind, darken my mood and attempts to alienate me form others.

I hope this changes, as I understand this is a phase I will eventually get past. I hope my writing stops suffering and I can get on with my stories.

I'm going to start using my twitter more often to so I will keep everyone updated as my stories are coming along.

That about wraps this up, I apologize for the depressing mood, just wanted to get that off my mind a bit.

The next time I post it will be a more positive update of the next chapter or a new story entirely.

Till next time,

Roger

Hope Rocket makes you laugh

This would be Rocket, my dad's black lab who just so happened held this pose for several hours just so my brother could get a camera and snap this shot, captions and all! (Not true, just lucky pic and the captions were added) This would be my first step toward taking over the internet world. As we all know, animals doing cute, funny, or bizarre things are running the businesses right now, even more so when captions are involved. So I hitched a ride on the band wagon and am cruising toward an internet life of prosperity and shiny things... Or the complete opposite... That might explain why this wagon is full of neighborhood news, home videos of boring and poor quality material and an old ipod that needs batteries.

Yep that is my plan.

On the next note, I have not updated in a while because last Saturday, my grandfather of 68 passed away in the VA Hospital he was in only the day after my mother and grandmother returned from visiting him. It's been a tough time even before he was in the hospital, since for the past 2 years, he had been swiftly going down hill starting with his legs which had begun to die. He even lost feeling but still drove everywhere himself. He even didn't realize that his foot was on the accelerator and destroyed his carport and the stairs to his house. He put a foot stool in place to get inside. He was a heavy, heavy smoker, and a heavy drinker all from a very young age, so most of his problems came from complications of both of them. Just a month ago he sneezed and fell over, breaking his back and hospitalizing him. What he didn't tell us was that he had fallen again in the hospital this time hitting his head and causing internal problems that gave his seizures and even in his sleep, he was still writhing in pain. For a little bit, while my mother and grandmother was there, he appeared to be getting better and my mother and uncle even found a nursing home they intended to put him in, but once she left, he got worse and eventually passed.

We are just thankful that it was relatively short considering if he pulled through he would be under constant care, and being a man who once had the ability and drive to do what he wanted, when he wanted, and live completely independent, he would have been miserable for the rest of his days. The worst part about it for me isn't that he passed, I was prepared for it, but how my mother is taking it. She had centered her future around moving north and being a nurse so she could take care of him and make sure he was alright instead of putting him in a nursing home, or worse, following my great uncle Ronald, my grandfather's brother-in-law, who died alone in his house and was found almost a week later already half-decayed. So the hardest part is my mother dealing with her future plans shifting, and being without her father.

So I haven't had the time to really update everything of mine, I have a bit, but not as much as I had hoped. But before I close out I would like to present you with a link to my Step-mother's art website her calligraphy facebook page, she and my father are in a bit of a financial choke hold and she is trying to sell some of her art, which is getting better and better all the time, so I invite you to check it out as well.

Well then, until next time, this is Roger and I'm out.

Wanna buy a sundial?

If you remember this line from a classic 90s Disney film, then I would have to say... Well...cool? This happens to be one of my favorite childhood movies of all time, I would say it was number 3 on my scale. Tonight I want to make a list, a personal list of the classic Disney movies I grew up with and a little bit about why they spoke so strongly to me.

Want to hear them? Well just keep reading my friend, if you don't, awe well, this is a personal blog, you don't have to stay here for anyone's benefit.

5.The Jungle Book
My number 5 on this short list is The Jungle Book. I remember days long past when I would put the rather large VHS Cassette into the VHS player and sat down on my bed and watched the story of Mowgli and Baloo unfold from start to finish. I loved King Louie's song "I wanna be like you", and the elephants. I related to Mowgli as he was being taken to the Man village though he would prefer to stay with the wolves. I have always known that things were going to change, and try as I might, they happened. I felt that I was moved from my family to another place at times. But hey, that sounds like growing up to me.
4.Fox and the Hound
The Fox and the Hound was a childhood favorite as it reminded me of my old friends growing up. I always pictured myself as Cooper, innocent, fun-loving and a bit clumsy, but afraid of a lifestyle I could be in as it would entail separating myself from my friends. In the end, I lost my friends as they left to live somewhere else.

3.Hercules
Now here's a movie I couldn't get enough of growing up. Born great, and became greater. Hercules was my inspiration, even causing tears to sting my eyes at Micheal Bolton's song "Going the Distance". Growing up, I felt out of place, as if I didn't belong there. I was awkward around people, reserved for the most part, and felt like a screw up, like each chance I had to have the spotlight I messed up somehow. But because of Hercules, I knew that one day, if I kept trying, I would reach where I was destined to be.
2.The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Another movie that spoke to my isolated life. For whatever reason, I started to talk down to myself, making my childhood depression worse. To me, Frolo in the movie was that voice talking down to me, telling me I was a monster compared to others, that I needed it to be safe. I was of course Quasimodo, locked up in my own bell tower with the very key to my lock in my back pocket. I was just too afraid the voice was right.
1.Tarzan
By far my favorite movie of all time. This timeless story echoes the same message the others did, about not fitting in and feeling like there was more to my life, except in this one, it mirrored my curiosity of what it was like to be apart of a new, and more exciting world. A world free of fear, of self doubt, and willing to accept any hand that reached out.

All these movies congregated to make me who I am today, and in due process, will help make me who I should be in the future. Because of the stories told in each movie, I became interested in mythology, classic books, new ideas. And they all in themselves developed my imagination, giving me the greatest joy I could ever know myself.

I thank you for taking the time to read this, I really do appreciate it. I hope your days and nights guide you well, as we continue on in this ever changing, ever wonderful world we live it.

Update... and apologizes...

Well... I've been lazy... I have been working on all my stories but I have not uploaded any text at all... I can't say I will always be up to date with posting but I have a busy life, taking my girlfriend to school, going to school myself, working and getting more hours... I haven't had much time to sit down and type up my stories. As a result, I have not been able to keep up with the dates I have made before. This time however, I do have set dates that I WILL keep up with, such as:
Saria's first chapter, both on fanfiction and here on blogger, will be up this next Sunday.
Curse of the Sea has been rocky for a while now, not much progress has been made unfortunately... there is not a given date for the next chapters.
Pikmin Origins: another fanfiction I am working on, will be available on October 9th, that date is certain, by then I will have all of Saria's story done, and I can work on it more.
Abysmal Depths has been very slow to start up, I hope it will be available on October 10th after Pikmin.
The Life of a Spy will be this Friday, not much more to say about that.
And I will be posting new passages to books I am working on, and short stories and poems I make off and on from now on.

I hope this set schedule helps, I have then almost ready... just need to work more on them...

Well then, that's about it for the update... I again, am very sorry for my lack of work on these stories, but I am hopeful for the future!

have a great day everyone!

A New Day and The Same Thing...

I apologize for not posting in over a month, already a broken promise... (sorry!) Ah. well... At least I have a new blog put up about little writings I have. It's at:

It's the start to my dream I posted in my first blogger post.
I would enjoy the views that people give them but I don't mind if they just sit in cyber limbo...

Anyway, not too much has happened since my last post. I got a new job at the same restaurant that both my mother and grandmother work at. And my school ended and my online classes began.

That's about it really.

I guess I'll finish this post up with a head's up for the next short stories that I will be posting in my Written Works blog.

One will be about an old man with a secret that makes you wonder if he is good or evil, a funny short about a aliens, and a depressing story about how Christmas day for the type that believes they don't deserve anything.

Oh, and I will make a new blog for blog story The Life of A Spy later this week and add chapter one and then chapter two to it.

So I guess that's the best update I can give at the moment, make sure to follow and leave a comment!

Till next time, have fun!
